The Opportunity

MMB+CO is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Tax Operations Associate to support the administration and execution of tax department workflows, technology platforms, and client service processes. This role works closely with tax professionals and administrative team members to ensure the efficient movement of tax engagements from initiation through delivery while maintaining exceptional quality and client service standards.

A Closer Look At

The Role Tax Operations & Workflow Management
  • Monitor and maintain tax workflow systems, including Workstream and related tracking tools.
  • Coordinate tax engagement movement through established workflow processes.
  • Assist with tax deadline monitoring and project status reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to tax engagements.
  • Support tax season operational initiatives and department priorities.
Technology & Process Administration
  • Assist with administration of tax technology platforms, including Safe Send and workflow applications.
  • Provide support and training to team members on department systems and procedures.
  • Create and maintain process documentation and user guides.
  • Identify opportunities to improve departmental processes and efficiencies.
  • Participate in implementation and testing of new technologies and workflows.
Team Development & Training
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new tax personnel.
  • Coordinate training sessions related to department software and procedures.
  • Support cross-training initiatives among administrative and tax team members.
  • Serve as a resource for workflow and operational questions.
Client & Internal Service
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism when interacting with clients and team members.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Communicate effectively regarding priorities, deadlines, and workload considerations.

Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Office Administration, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 2+ years of experience in administrative, accounting, tax, financial services, or professional services environments.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly comfortable working with a wide range of technology and software tools.
