A large real estate investment and management firm is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team and supervise the day-to-day accounting, treasury, and operational tasks for an assigned portfolio of real estate investments. This is a hands‑on role with exposure to all aspects of the business and potential for significant growth.
Responsibilities- Train, supervise and review the work of internal and outsourced accounting close functions
- Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide coaching and mentoring to team members
- Continuously assess accounting processes and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing streamlined workflows
- Participate in monthly draw process
- Participate in coordination and completion of annual audits
- Participate in preparation of property budgets and projections
- Interact with internal management, internal investment team, internal property managers, banking institutions, investors, lenders, JV partners, external tax and legal advisors, and auditors as necessary
- Participate in deal closings including acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactions
- Ad hoc projects as requested
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, CPA designation preferred
- 3+ years of real estate investment accounting/operations experience at an owner/operator/lender or third‑party administrator
- Strong leadership abilities and a proven track record in team management
- Ability to foster a collaborative and high‑performing team environment
- Motivated and dependable team player with impeccable ethics who maintains strict confidentiality
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Sound business acumen and decision‑making skills with an aptitude for identifying when issues need escalation to senior management
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency with Real Page software is a big plus but not required
