Tax Accountant​/Senior Tax Accountant

We are looking for a Tax Accountant / Senior Tax Accountant who will report to the Tax Manager. This role will be responsible for supporting tax financial reporting and tax compliance requirements for Trans Re entities.

• Involvement with preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provision in accordance with US GAAP and US statutory reporting requirements
• Involvement with preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns for US Insurance and Non-insurance corporations
• Involvement with preparation and review of state, local, and other tax compliance (i.e. sales & use, personal property, commercial rent tax, federal excise tax reporting, etc.)
• Involvement with preparation and review of US information filings for foreign entities (i.e., Form 5471, 8865, 8621, etc.) and foreign tax credit calculations (Form 1118)
• Assisting with federal, state, and local tax authority audits
• Identifying opportunities and making recommendations to reduce taxes and minimize audit exposure
• Utilizing software and systems to improve quality of work, improve processes and increase efficiency
• Engaging with external specialist as necessary to support complex tax issues
• Supporting operations and strategic corporate objectives
• Reconciling and utilizing data to execute and compile tax requirements
• Work with third party vendors that provide services to the tax team

• Minimum of 1 year of tax experience at a public accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
• Experience in the (re) insurance industry is a plus
• CPA or CPA track
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Knowledge of Workday Ledger and Oracle TRCS
• Tax Provision is a plus

Trans Re is supportive of an agile work schedule, which may differ based on individual roles, your local office’s practices and preferences, marketplace trends, and Trans Re’s business objectives. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with approximately 3 days in the office per week, with the remainder of the week remote.

In addition to base salary, for this position, Trans Re offers a comprehensive benefits package, paid time off, and incentive pay opportunity. The anticipated annual base salary range in New York for this position, exclusive of benefits, paid time off, and incentive pay opportunity is $110,000–$130,000. This range is an estimate and the actual base salary offered for this position will be determined based on certain factors, including the applicant’s specific skill set and level of experience.
