Non-Teaching Adjunct, Level 4 – Finance and Budget Analysis

Non-Teaching Adjunct, Level 4 position in the Business Office of the Graduate Center of CUNY.

General Duties

Completes non-teaching projects or complex work in support of a Campus or University administrative or academic department. This work is generally of a temporary nature and requires specialized experience or expertise.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare Cash/treasury entries in People Soft.
  • Analyze data and prepare journal entries for reclassifications, accruals, etc.
  • Record payments from third party vendors.
  • Calculate, analyze, transfer, and record student related fees.
  • Assist Associate Budget Director with preparing budget transfers and journals.
  • Collaborate with Academic Affairs, Budget Office and Accounting Office to reconcile Income Fund Reimbursable (IFR) accounts and prepare journal entries as required.
  • Prepare expense reconciliations as part of the semi-annual close process.
  • Analyze and review umbrella accounts and ensure timely recording of reclassifications.
  • Analyze balance sheet accounts, ensure prior year balances are reclassified timely.
  • Assist with year‑end audit, including preparation of financial statements, notes, MDA and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Solid budget experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills (V-lookups, pivot tables, advanced formulas).
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Advanced degree or CPA.
  • People Soft experience.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship will not be offered for this position.

Compensation

$63.55/hr–$71.25/hr (Hourly rate increases to $65.78/hr–$73.75/hr as of 9/1/26 per the PSC contract).
