Trade Accountant

Our client is a global commodity trading firm looking for a Junior and Senior Trade Accountant to join their accounting and product control team. This is an opportunity to step into a high-impact role supporting a commodity platform, partnering across teams to drive visibility into performance, risk, and profitability.

• Support month-end close, including journal entries and balance sheet oversight
• Maintain accounting and reporting for products, working with both the Front and Back Offices
• Own P&L reporting and variance analysis across assigned trading books
• Partner closely with traders and operations to understand positions, exposure, and market drivers
• Assess and apply valuation methodologies across physical and derivative products
• Deliver clean, timely reporting and actionable insights in a fast-moving environment
• Contribute to ongoing process improvements and system enhancements

• True front-to-back exposure across trading, accounting, and operations
• Exposure to multiple products
• High visibility with commercial teams - this is not a back-office role

• 3-7+ years in accounting, including product control, trading support, or financial reporting
• Experience analyzing P&L within trading, commodities, or markets-focused environments
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large, complex data sets
• PowerBI skills highly preferred
• Understanding of derivatives or mark-to-market accounting
• Confident communicator who can translate financials into business insights
