Interim Corporate Controller
We are currently seeking candidates for an Interim Corporate Controller opportunity at a well-established manufacturing organization located in Queens, NY. The Interim Corporate Controller will manage daily accounting operations and the month‑end close to financial reporting, inventory accounting, payroll review, internal controls, and process improvements. The ideal candidate will have 12–15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a proven record of success in Corporate Controller and/or CFO positions, within the manufacturing industry.
This is a 3+ month contract position, paying between $100-$120/hour (depending on experience). This position supports a hybrid work model (on‑site 4 days and remote 1 day).
Responsibilities- Lead all day‑to‑day accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, cash management, and month‑end/year‑end close.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversee inventory accounting, including inventory valuation, reconciliations, manufacturing‑related transactions, physical inventories, cycle counts, and variance analysis.
- Review and approve payroll processed by Human Resources through ADP, ensuring payroll accuracy and proper accounting.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial reporting processes.
- Coordinate external audits and collaborate with outside tax and audit partners.
- Monitor cash flow and support budgeting, forecasting, and other financial analysis as needed.
- Serve as the accounting lead for Microsoft Dynamics, ensuring data integrity and efficient system utilization.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and support the organization’s continued growth.
- Partner closely with C‑suite and operational leaders by providing financial insight and supporting strategic business decisions.
- Provide additional support as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
- 12–15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including previous experience as a Corporate Controller and/or CFO.
- Strong manufacturing industry experience supporting companies with $30 million to $100 million in annual revenue.
- Proven success leading all accounting functions within a lean organization where a hands‑on approach is essential.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, inventory accounting, manufacturing accounting, and internal controls.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics is required.
- Experience reviewing payroll processed through ADP.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
