Senior Accountant – ACCOUNTING & AUDITING
$5000 SIGNING BONUS
The Senior Accountant
- Audit is a full-time position, responsible for performing audit and accounting work as assigned. The successful candidate must demonstrate an ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. The position offers a range of opportunities to grow in rank and proficiency through special assignments, team development and paid CPE opportunities. Benefits: paid vacation and holidays, sick and personal time, a 401(k) plan, health, life and long-term disability insurances.
Competitive salary, commensurate with experience and a signing bonus of $5,000 paid in three (3) installments at 30, 60 and 90 days employed.
This position’s hours are 9 – 5:30, Mondays through Fridays. Working extended hours and Saturdays should be anticipated during tax seasons and statutory deadline periods.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, CPA a plus
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years in recent public accounting
Software
- Working knowledge of automated audit software and audit research tools
Responsibilities:
- Develop accurate and complete audit work papers that support audit observation and documentation
- Create financial statements at audit completion
- Review SOC 1 write ups and perform control walkthroughs
- Execute testing procedures around cash, receivables, income, benefit payments, expenses, and other areas
- Maintain effective working relationships with Partners and staff to review work and discuss changes, as needed, to ensure efficient workflow and excellent client relations
- Audit benefit plans, corporate and partnership entities and prepare financial statements
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheets and general ledger accounts
- Execute fieldwork by performing audit testing through inquiry, observation, and re-performance; documenting results in work papers
- Review work within the team to ensure timely and accurate completion of audits
- Assist staff with other accounting projects as required
