Location: New York
The client, a prestigious Arts & Culture Institution, is a seeking a Part-Time Staff Accountant to support the Controller with general accounting and reconciliations work 2 days per week on an ongoing basis. Both days of work are onsite in Midtown Manhattan.
Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end AP workflows, including invoice processing, 3-way matching, payment execution, vendor inquiries, and expense report coding in compliance with company policy.
- Oversee revenue recognition processes in alignment with applicable accounting standards, drafting and posting standard and non-standard journal entries
- Prepare and post accurate payroll, payroll tax, and employee benefits journal entries following each pay cycle while reconciling provider invoices against general ledger accounts.
- Perform timely monthly bank and credit card reconciliations and additional ad hoc responsibilities to assist with the month-end close.
- BA of Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field; CPA or Higher Ed a Plus
- 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience within a non-profit environment
- Experience with enterprise accounting software; I.E Netsuite, Sage Intacct, Financial Edge
