Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: New York

Our client is a large, globally recognized financial services firm with a highly regarded corporate tax accounting function. The organization is publicly traded, operates under significant regulatory oversight, and is undertaking a major initiative to build a new consolidated IFRS tax reporting capability to support reporting obligations to an international parent stakeholder. This is a newly created, high visibility opportunity to join a well established, collaborative tax accounting team at a firm known for its brand strength, professional development, and career mobility.

The Role

This is one of two newly created positions dedicated to building the organization's first consolidated IFRS tax reporting process. The role sits within the corporate tax accounting group and partners closely with senior tax leadership, Finance, legal entity controllers, and an external Big Four advisory team supporting the project. Because this process is being built from the ground up, the person in this role will have real influence over how the reporting calendar, controls, and workflow ultimately take shape.

This is not a narrow, maintenance style position. It is a chance to help design a new process end to end while continuing to participate in the team's core US GAAP tax provision work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design and implementation of a new consolidated IFRS tax provision process
  • Convert consolidated US GAAP tax reporting under ASC 740 into IFRS reporting under IAS 12
  • Identify, calculate, and document IFRS tax adjustments and reconcile related accounts
  • Explain and analyze key US GAAP to IFRS tax accounting differences
  • Prepare and review IFRS tax provision information for periodic reporting cycles
  • Book IFRS related adjustments to the general ledger on a recurring basis
  • Partner with Finance, controllers, global tax teams, and external advisors on process design
  • Build sustainable documentation, controls, and data handoffs for a new reporting process
  • Evaluate IFRS tax consequences of transactions and firm initiatives
  • Contribute to the team's core US GAAP tax provision and reporting responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation, data integrity, and reporting efficiency

Qualifications

Required:

  • Approximately five to seven years of tax accounting or tax provision experience
  • Strong working knowledge of ASC 740 income tax accounting
  • Meaningful, recurring experience with IAS 12 or IFRS tax accounting, not limited to a single engagement or client
  • Experience with consolidated income tax provisions
  • Strong reconciliation, documentation, and controls skills
  • Experience working within a complex, regulated, or public company environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Join as one of the first two people fully dedicated to building a brand new consolidated IFRS tax reporting function
  • Gain direct, high visibility exposure to senior tax leadership and cross functional Finance partners
  • Take on real ownership of process design rather than simply executing an existing framework
  • Broaden your technical range across both US GAAP and IFRS tax accounting
  • A strong path for Big Four tax professionals seeking an in house role with steadier hours
  • Individual contributor role with meaningful scope and no routine expectation of public accounting style weekend work
  • Strong brand recognition and long term career mobility within a large, established organization

Location and Work Arrangement

New York, NY. Hybrid schedule with three days per week in the office.

Compensation

Base salary is anticipated to be approximately $140,000 to $175,000, plus an annual bonus. target of 15% to 20% of base salary. Final compensation will depend on experience and qualifications.
