Senior Revenue Accountant

Our client is a publicly traded advertising company. They seek a Senior Revenue Accountant to join their Manhattan, NY office.

Responsibilities

• Analyze client contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment in accordance with applicable accounting standards
• Evaluate revenue arrangements to ensure accurate accounting for accrued revenue, deferred revenue, and related balances
• Monitor aging schedules for revenue-related balance sheet accounts and coordinate with business partners to resolve outstanding items
• Assess complex contract terms to determine the appropriate accounting treatment for revenue transactions
• Verify that recorded revenue is supported by executed agreements and underlying project documentation
• Participate in month-end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and revenue reporting
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and business stakeholders to resolve revenue accounting questions and reporting issues
• Prepare account analyses, supporting schedules, and documentation for internal and external audit requests
• Identify opportunities to strengthen revenue recognition processes, internal controls, and reporting accuracy
• Assist with ad hoc financial analyses, accounting projects, and process improvement initiatives

Requirements

• 3-6+ years of revenue accounting experience
• Advertising or similar industry
• Deferred revenue and unbilled receivables experience
• Strong Excel, Net Suite, and Salesforce experience
