Bookkeeper Position

We are looking for a detail-oriented bookkeeper to join a contracting company in College Point, New York on a short-term contract assignment. This position is suited for someone who can independently oversee day-to-day accounting activities, maintain accurate financial records, and support reliable reporting for project-based operations. The ideal candidate brings experience in construction accounting and can help strengthen accounting workflows while making effective use of Sage 100.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the complete bookkeeping cycle, including recording transactions, maintaining ledgers, and keeping financial data current and accurate.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, ensuring invoices, payments, and collections are handled in a timely manner.
• Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and maintain accurate balances.
• Prepare financial reports that support business decision-making and provide clear visibility into company performance.
• Track project-related expenses and job costs to help monitor profitability across construction work.
• Use Sage 100 and Quick Books to maintain accounting records, improve reporting accuracy, and support efficient daily operations.
• Organize accounting documentation and help establish consistent procedures that improve structure within the finance function.
