Location: New York

Our client, a leading organization in the food manufacturing industry, is seeking a dedicated Inventory Accountant to join their team. As an Inventory Accountant, you will be part of the Finance Department supporting inventory management and cost analysis functions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Inventory Accountant

Location: New York City, New York

Pay Range: $50/HR W2

What’s the Job?
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods
  • Calculate and analyze cost of goods sold (COGS), manufacturing variances, and production costs
  • Support inventory valuation methods such as FIFO and weighted average in compliance with GAAP
  • Monitor inventory reserves for shrinkage, spoilage, obsolescence, and expiration risks
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Production teams to ensure inventory accuracy and reporting integrity
What’s Needed?
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience in inventory accounting within a manufacturing or food production environment
  • Strong understanding of inventory valuation methods and GAAP principles
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and communicate complex information clearly
