Senior Accountant – US Region
Reporting to the Controller U.S. Region, the Senior Accountant is a highly experienced, critical member of the Finance team, responsible for managing complex accounting activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial records, and providing comprehensive financial reporting and analysis.
Responsibilities- Own the end-to-end monthly and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries, including accruals, prepaid amortization, depreciation, and payroll allocations.
- Perform and review detailed balance sheet reconciliations for all major accounts.
- Prepare and analyze the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for management review.
- Research complex or non-routine accounting issues and prepare formal technical accounting memos.
- Serve as a key liaison for external auditors, preparing audit work papers, schedules, and documentation.
- Maintain and evaluate internal controls over financial reporting and recommend improvements.
- Conduct in-depth variance analysis of actual results versus budget/forecast and prior periods.
- Assist the Finance Business Partner Team and Controller in the preparation of the annual operating budget and forecasts.
- Identify, design, and implement process efficiencies within the accounting function.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for financial inquiries from other departments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas) and Google Sheets.
- Expert knowledge of US GAAP and full‑cycle accounting.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Workday ERP and knowledge of IFRS.
- Highly desirable: CPA or CMA certification.
Hybrid (2-3 days in the office per week), based in New York City, NY. Salary range: $80,000 – $110,000 per year.
