Moses Singer, a prestigious mid-sized NYC law firm seeks a Senior-level Accountant who will be involved with managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Our finance department plays a crucial role in ensuring the firm's financial health and compliance with all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and hands-on. Strong foundation in accounting principles, practices, and financial regulations.

Senior-level Accountant responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Our finance department plays a crucial role in maintaining the firm's financial health and meeting all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be proactive, hands-on, and possess a strong foundation in accounting principles, practices, and financial regulations. We are looking for a self-starter who takes initiative in identifying and resolving issues.
Advanced Excel skills, including advanced fórmulas and macros, are required.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and documented.
- Maintain partner accounting transactions.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Prepare and submit required financial reports to regulatory authorities.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate tax records and documentation.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making.
- Identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Provide financial insight and recommendations to management.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Communicate financial information to non-financial staff.
- Provide training and support to junior accounting staff.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:Minimum 5 years of accounting experience,
preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software or similar enterprise software programs.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledgeable in partner accounting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Advanced Excel skills.
