Location: New York
A multi-generational single family office overseeing 300+ entities — partnerships, trusts, operating companies, charitable entities, and real estate — is seeking a Senior Accountant to serve as a primary accountant across its portfolio, including a large affiliated foundation. This is a high-visibility role for someone who thrives managing complexity across multiple entities in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as primary accountant for the family office and its foundation, managing day-to-day bookkeeping, reporting, and compliance
- Perform monthly reconciliations across bank, brokerage, and investment accounts
- Prepare and route wire transfers with proper supporting documentation, including foundation grants and distributions (tracking against annual minimum distribution requirements)
- Calculate capital calls and member contributions/distributions across partnership and LLC structures
- Analyze cash flow and liquidity to support upcoming investments and spending needs
- Enter/reconcile K-1s and prepare tax work papers for partnerships, trusts, and foundations
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and support foundation compliance (grant tracking, Form 990-PF support)
- Identify and elevate discrepancies or process gaps; support workflow standardization
- Partner closely with the CFO, Controller, and external tax/legal advisors
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA a plus
- 6+ years progressive accounting experience; family office, private foundation, private equity, or HNW experience strongly preferred
- Prior experience as primary/lead accountant for a family office strongly preferred
- Strong grasp of partnership accounting (capital accounts, K-1 allocations, capital calls/distributions)
- Familiarity with private foundation accounting a plus Archway experience preferred; advanced Excel skills
- High discretion, strong organizational skills, and ability to work independently across multiple entities
