A growing consumer products organization is seeking an Inventory & Revenue Accounting Manager to play a key role in financial reporting, inventory accounting, and gross margin analysis. This is a highly visible position that partners with Supply Chain, Operations, Merchandising, and FP&A while helping drive process improvements across the accounting function.
What You'll Do- Lead month-end close activities related to inventory and cost accounting
- Own inventory valuation, reserves, costing, landed costs, and related balance sheet accounts
- Support revenue recognition and gross margin reporting
- Analyze inventory trends, cost variances, and margin fluctuations
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting schedules
- Partner cross-functionally to resolve inventory and operational accounting issues
- Strengthen internal controls and improve accounting processes
- Support audits, system enhancements, and special projects
- Mentor and review the work of junior accounting staff
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 4+ years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Experience with in retail, wholesale, consumer products, manufacturing, or distribution environments
- Background in inventory and cost accounting
- ERP system experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Public accounting or Big 4 experience
- Experience with inventory-intensive businesses
- Exposure to system implementations or process improvement initiatives
