The individual in this role will handle a diverse range of daily responsibilities within our Tax Department, including managing income tax compliance, income tax accounting, and supporting related audits. We seek a detail-oriented, self-driven, and dependable professional to become part of our compact tax team. The candidate will collaborate closely with colleagues in finance and operations, as well as external tax and accounting service providers, to ensure precise and timely tax reporting across the corporate structure.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
The individual in this role will handle a diverse range of daily responsibilities within our Tax Department, including managing income tax compliance, income tax accounting, and supporting related audits. We seek a detail-oriented, self-driven, and dependable professional to become part of our compact tax team. The candidate will collaborate closely with colleagues in finance and operations, as well as external tax and accounting service providers, to ensure precise and timely tax reporting across the corporate structure.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Examine federal, state, and local partnership and corporate tax returns, extensions, and quarterly estimates.
- Prepare and maintain various schedules to calculate book to tax differences, state and local tax apportionment, tax allocations, trial balance, and capital accounts.
- Ensure the delivery of accurate and timely tax information.
- Prepare and review compliance for sales/use tax, unclaimed property, and commercial rent tax.
- Review and prepare ASC 740 corporate income tax provision and related footnote disclosures for inclusion in annual and quarterly SEC filings of forms 10-K and 10-Q.
- Examine international tax provisions and prepare foreign tax credit calculations.
- Prepare quarterly and annual tax accruals and conduct effective tax rate analysis.
- Assist in managing tax audits, including responding to information requests.
- Respond to notices from tax authorities.
- Support tax research and planning activities.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- CPA certification with 2-3 years of total tax experience.
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Capability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Strong work ethic with a high level of accountability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with online tax research tools such as Checkpoint.
- Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft products.
