About the Client: Our client is a mid‑sized professional services firm with multiple U.S. offices specializing in advisory, tax strategy, and financial consulting. They support a broad mix of industry sectors, with a strong footprint in real estate and related investment entities. The firm is consistently recognized for its workplace culture and for excellence within its specialty practices.

Role Overview

The firm is hiring a Senior Partner‑level Tax Leader for their Real Estate practice. This individual will guide complex real‑estate–focused tax engagements, drive strategic advisory work, oversee client relationships, and support growth initiatives across the group. This is a leadership role that requires strong technical command, relationship‑building skills, and the ability to mentor and elevate a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the lead technical resource for clients in the real estate sector, including developers, investors, managers, and multi‑asset portfolios.
  • Interpret evolving tax requirements that impact property transactions, holding structures, entity formation, and long‑term planning.
  • Build tailored tax strategies focused on improving outcomes for client projects and investment objectives.
  • Oversee and quality‑check complex tax filings and advisory deliverables.
  • Manage a portfolio of client relationships—ensuring high‑touch service, identifying expansion opportunities, and supporting new engagements.
  • Lead a group of mid‑level and senior tax professionals, providing coaching, technical development, and workflow oversight.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams (audit, advisory, valuation, etc.) to deliver cohesive client solutions.
  • Participate in business development, market positioning, and prospect outreach with firm leadership.
  • Identify emerging trends within the real estate tax landscape and help shape practice direction.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; advanced credentials strongly preferred.
  • A long track record (10+ years) of hands‑on work within real estate‑focused tax planning, structuring, and compliance.
  • Deep understanding of federal, state, and municipal tax considerations relevant to property ownership, investment, and development.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage client relationships, and operate as a senior‑level advisor.
  • Strong communication, business development experience, and comfort operating at a partner/principal level within a professional services environment.
  • Highly analytical with the ability to interpret complex situations and offer practical, strategic tax solutions.
