Assistant Controller

Staff Buffalo is working with a dynamic, global organization to hire an Assistant Controller in Getzville, NY. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys owning complex accounting processes, partnering with leadership, and making a direct impact on the financial health of a growing business. Working closely with the Controller, you'll play a key role in financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, foreign currency accounting, inventory accounting, and maintaining strong internal controls.

• Oversee daily accounting activities, position reporting, and post month-end adjustments.
• Manage foreign currency accounts, inventory accounting, hedge activity, and tolling transactions.
• Approve accounts payable vouchers and support cash posting, wire activity, and accounts receivable analysis.
• Prepare bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, and assist with month-end close.
• Prepare sales tax filings, government reports, and monthly banking packages.
• Review sales contract pricing and support inventory and warehouse reconciliations.
• Support internal controls, compliance initiatives, and continuous process improvements.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field required.
• 3-5 years of public accounting and/or industry accounting experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with IBM i (AS400) is a plus.
• Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Collaborative, team-oriented professional with a proactive, ownership mindset.

• Competitive salary of $70,000-$110,000, based on experience.
