Grants & Finance Assistant

Full-Time (In-Person)

Salary: $50,000–$60,000 annually

Grants Manager

Position Summary

Bronx House is seeking a detail-oriented Grants & Finance Assistant to support the daily operations of the Finance Department. This position will assist with grant administration, bookkeeping, accounts payable, financial reporting, and contract reimbursements while working closely with the Grants Manager and Finance Consultant (CFO). The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and committed to maintaining accurate financial records in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.

Essential

Responsibilities Grants Administration
  • Assist with grant reimbursement requests and contract billing.
  • Maintain grant files and supporting documentation.
  • Track grant expenditures and reporting deadlines.
  • Assist with grant audits and compliance reviews.
  • Work with program staff to collect required financial information.
Finance & Bookkeeping
  • Process accounts payable and vendor payments.
  • Assist with accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain financial records.
  • Assist with month-end closing and audit preparation.
  • Maintain organized financial documentation.
  • Prepare financial reports and spreadsheets as assigned.
Administrative Support
  • Maintain vendor files and W-9 records.
  • Support special finance and grant projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or grants administration experience.
  • Nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Experience with Fund EZ, Quick Books, or similar accounting software preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines.
