What You'll Do
Join Nexxen's HR Operations team as a Payroll Specialist II, where you'll play a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and compliant payroll across North America (NAM) and EMEA. Reporting to the Manager, Total Rewards, you'll partner closely with Human Resources, Finance, Benefits, and external payroll providers to support employees across four countries while ensuring an exceptional payroll experience. This role is based in our New York or Chicago office and follows a hybrid schedule, working in the office three days per week.
This is a non-exempt position.
Each day can be different here at Nexxen, but some of the things you can expect to do include:
Payroll Processing & Administration- Process and coordinate semi-monthly payrolls for the United States and Canada and monthly payrolls for the United Kingdom and Germany.
- Review and process payroll change requests submitted through Jira.
- Review and validate bonus, commission, equity (RSU/PSU), and supplemental earnings.
- Reconcile UK pension calculations between NFP and Zedra.
- Review payroll outputs from Ceridian Dayforce Powerpay, Zedra, and DATEV against ADP Workforce Now.
- Audit payroll registers, funding reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Process off-cycle payrolls, severance payments, payroll corrections, and wire payment calculations.
- Maintain payroll calendars and ensure deadlines and banking timelines are met.
- Serve as the primary contact for payroll vendors including Ceridian Dayforce Powerpay, Zedra, and DATEV.
- Partner with Finance on payroll funding and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with HR and Benefits to ensure accurate payroll data.
- Respond to payroll inquiries through Jira and the payroll inbox.
- Investigate employee questions regarding pay, taxes, deductions, and direct deposit.
- Document inquiries and resolutions while escalating complex issues when appropriate.
- Maintain payroll records in accordance with company policy and regulations.
- Prepare documentation and reconciliations for internal and external audits.
- Assist with payroll tax registrations, year-end processing, statutory reporting, and SOX controls
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably supporting multiple countries.
- Experience processing multi-state U.S. payroll.
- Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now;
Dayforce Powerpay, Zedra, or DATEV is a plus. - Strong payroll compliance, reconciliation, and Excel skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to partner with HR, Finance, Benefits, and external vendors.
- Experience supporting global payroll operations.
- Experience with SOX controls and payroll audits.
- CPP certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Experience working with international payroll vendors.
