Senior Accountant – Business Services – Manhattan

A national Professional Services firm based in New York City has created a new role on its staff for an experienced Senior Accountant. Reporting to the Assistant Controller and collaborating with team members across various departments, this individual will be a key contributor to monthly General Ledger accounting activities.

Primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies
• Oversee daily, monthly, and annual GL accounting activities
• Prepare and review journal entries for accuracy and compliance with GAAP
• Review and approve expenses and AP transactions
• Product financial reporting packages and supporting documents
• Perform variance and budget-to-actual analysis for multiple departments
• Participate in special projects including regular adjustments to policies and procedures
• Support annual external audit activities
• Ability to perform all required duties while working in-person, 5 days a week

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• CPA or significant progress toward certification
• 4 years of progressive General Ledger and Financial Reporting experience

Compensation:

Competitive salary range: $90,000 - $110,000 per year plus benefits and performance incentives.
