Our client, a major bank, is looking to hire a Shared Services Controller in New York City
Pay Rate Range: Paying 56-63/hr W2
Responsibilities Position SummaryThe Shared Services Controller leads financial reporting, close management, accounting governance, and finance operations for the shared services legal entity. This role oversees financial reporting, process improvements, systems initiatives, and internal controls while partnering with Finance leadership, business units, IT, and auditors to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.
Requirements- 10+ years of accounting experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting
- CPA preferred
- Financial services industry experience
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Manage a team of two supporting month-end close.
- Review financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Oversee accruals, allocations, intercompany activity, and journal entries.
- Perform financial analysis, variance reviews, and management reporting.
- Oversee intercompany accounting, cost allocations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Partner with FP&A, Tax, AP, Product Control, and other finance teams to resolve accounting issues.
- Standardize processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Lead finance transformation and automation initiatives.
- Support ERP, reporting system, and process enhancements.
- Improve controls, data integrity, and reporting efficiency.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with intercompany accounting, allocations, reconciliations, and internal controls (SOX)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency with SAP, One Stream, Hyperion, and advanced Excel
- ASC 360, ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 850
- Fixed assets, prepaid expenses, depreciation, amortization
- Intercompany accounting and cost allocations
- Balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis
