LHH Recruitment is seeking a Accounting Assistant to work for a great not for profit organization in Nassau County, Long Island.
9am-5pm Monday through Friday. IN Office. Immediate Opportunity. Interview and Start!
Position SummaryThe Accounting Assistant will support the Finance Department with billing, accounts receivable, and general accounting functions. The position assists with government contract claims, tracking expenses, maintaining financial records, and supporting day-to-day finance operations. The ideal candidate has basic accounting experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to learn new systems and processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare and submit billing and claims documentation for government-funded programs.
- Record and maintain accounts receivable transactions.
- Track program expenses against contract and grant budgets.
- Assist with account reconciliations and financial recordkeeping.
- Maintain electronic and paper finance files.
- Support audits and requests for financial documentation.
- Enter accounting data and review transactions for accuracy.
- Generate routine reports as requested.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.??
- 1+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, billing, or accounts receivable experience.
- Must have nonprofit industry experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
$25-26 dollars per hour.
Pay Details: $24.00 to $26.00 per hour
