Assistant Controller @ PE Fund

Coda Search is partnering with a highly reputable Private Equity group seeking to hire an Assistant Controller to join its growing finance and accounting team. This individual will play a key role in overseeing fund accounting operations, supporting the deal team throughout the investment lifecycle, and assisting with financial reporting and fund accounting functions across the platform.

• Assist in overseeing the financial reporting for multiple private equity funds and investment vehicles
• Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAA
• Manage the month-end and quarter-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and workpaper preparation
• Support the deal team with transaction execution and closing activities
• Coordinate with external auditors and fund administrators
• Prepare investor reporting packages, capital account statements, and performance analyses
• Review partnership allocations, waterfalls, and carried interest calculations
• Assist with cash management, liquidity planning, and treasury-related activities
• Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and operational procedures

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred
• 8+ years of accounting experience within private equity, real estate, investment management, or public accounting
• Strong understanding of fund accounting, partnership accounting, and investment reporting
• Experience supporting investment/deal teams in a fast-paced environme
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Advanced Excel skills required; experience with accounting platforms and fund reporting systems preferred
