Non-Profit Accounting Manager

Our client is a mission-driven nonprofit organization focused on serving its community and supporting its programs through strong financial stewardship. They are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and help ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including GL, AP, AR, cash management, and reconciliations
• Manage and execute the month-end and year-end close
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reports
• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and supporting schedules
• Manage bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Support annual audit and tax preparation
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, including fund accounting and restricted/unrestricted funds
• Monitor grants, contributions, and other nonprofit revenue
• Develop and improve accounting processes and internal controls
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff
• Partner with leadership and department heads on financial reporting and budgeting

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience
  , preferably within a nonprofit organization
• Previous Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accountant experience
• Strong knowledge of month-end close and financial reporting
• Experience with fund accounting, grants, and restricted funds
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• CPA or nonprofit accounting experience is a plus
