Accounting Manager – P&C Insurance About the Opportunity
A leading Property & Casualty insurance carrier is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations supporting its reinsurance business.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, premium accounting, accounts receivable, and month-end/quarter-end close activities.
- Oversee daily accounting operations and month-end/quarter-end close
- Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support GAAP and statutory financial reporting
- Manage reinsurance and premium accounting activities
- Oversee accounts receivable, cash application, and reconciliations
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff
- Partner with Finance, Underwriting, Operations, IT, and Audit teams
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- P&C insurance and/or reinsurance accounting experience strongly preferred
- Strong general ledger and financial reporting experience
- Knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with Oracle preferred
- Prior management or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000 base + 10% annual incentive bonus + 3% merit increase opportunity +Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k) match, PTO, and professional development
