Compensation: $175,000 - $200,000/year + bonus

Atlantic Group is hiring a Private Equity Controller in New York, NY for our client, leading fund accounting, financial reporting, investment accounting, valuations, audits, and internal controls within an alternative investment environment. This role will oversee financial close and reporting processes, support investment and fund activity, strengthen accounting operations, and partner with senior leadership on key finance initiatives. The ideal candidate has extensive private equity or alternative investment accounting experience with strong knowledge of fund accounting, GAAP, financial reporting, valuations, audits, and internal controls.
Responsibilities as the Private Equity Controller:- Fund Accounting: Oversee fund accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and related accounting activities across investment funds and entities.
- Accounting Operations: Manage accounting operations, financial close processes, expenses, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Investment Accounting: Support investment accounting and valuation-related activities while maintaining accurate financial records and reporting.
- Financial Controls: Maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and processes that support accurate and efficient financial operations.
- Audit & Reporting: Coordinate annual audits, financial reporting, and other recurring accounting deliverables.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, senior leadership, and external service providers on accounting and finance initiatives.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Certification: Active CPA certification is required.
- Experience: 6+ years of fund accounting experience within a private equity investment firm is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of private equity fund structures, management company accounting, financial reporting, valuations, audits, and internal controls is required.

Skills:
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience with fund accounting, financial reporting, and general ledger systems is required. - Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, analytical, communication, organizational, problem-solving, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration skills are required.
