Hotel Financial Controller

Ace Hotel New York seeks a Hotel Financial Controller to lead property-level financial operations for our creative, boutique hotel in Midtown Manhattan. This role oversees budgeting, forecasting, daily revenue reporting, cost controls, and month-end closing while ensuring compliance with hotel accounting standards and internal controls. The Controller partners closely with Operations, F&B, and Events to analyze performance, optimize profitability, and support strategic decisions.

You'll lead a small accounting team, manage audits, cash flow, AR/AP, and payroll coordination, and provide clear, insightful financial reports to ownership and senior leadership in a collaborative, arts-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all property-level accounting and financial operations
• Develop, manage, and monitor annual budgets and forecasts
• Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly financial and revenue reports
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and hotel finance policies
• Manage month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and reporting
• Partner with Operations, F&B, and Events to optimize profitability and cost controls
• Supervise and develop accounting staff handling AP, AR, and cash procedures
• Coordinate audits, tax-related documentation, and liaison with external partners
• Monitor cash flow, banking, and credit card reconciliation processes
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to ownership and senior leadership
