Talent Edge are delighted to be partnering with a high-growth, VC-backed AI startup on their first dedicated Accounting hire in New York.
This is a business we’re particularly excited about. Founded by a team combining backgrounds in AI, engineering and law, the company is building technology that is fundamentally changing how one of the world’s oldest industries operates.
Backed by some of the biggest names in venture capital, the business has already built strong early customer traction and is now entering a significant phase of expansion across the US.
This opportunity is to become the first dedicated Accounting hire in New York, working closely with the VP of Finance and playing a key role in building the US finance infrastructure from the ground up.
Key responsibilities to include:- Own the month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations and financial reporting
- Build and manage the AR and AP functions, covering invoicing, collections, vendor management and payments
- Own cash management and forecasting, including bank reconciliations and cash flow reporting
- Establish scalable accounting processes, controls and documentation from the ground up
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve accounting workflows, systems and processes
- Partner closely with the VP of Finance and senior leadership as the finance function continues to scale
- Help build the accounting infrastructure required to support the company’s continued growth
- 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally across public accounting and/or high-growth SaaS, AI or technology businesses
- Strong hands-on experience across month-end close, financial reporting, AR and AP
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills
- Experience working with SQL
- Automation-led mindset with a genuine interest in systems and process improvement
- Comfortable operating with a high degree of ownership, autonomy and pace
- Sharp, ambitious and curious in nature, with a genuine builder mentality
