Fund Controller; Multi-Strat Hedge Fund

Our client is a leading global hedge fund with a sophisticated investment platform and an exceptional reputation across the industry. As the firm continues to grow, they are looking to add an experienced Fund Controller to take meaningful ownership within the fund accounting function.

This is a senior, hands-on role offering broad exposure across the firm's investment activity and close partnership with teams across Finance, Operations, Tax, Valuations, and the investment business. You'll oversee key aspects of the fund accounting and reporting process while serving as a senior point of contact for both internal stakeholders and external service providers.

The opportunity goes well beyond overseeing the monthly close. You'll be involved in complex accounting and fund-level matters, new initiatives, and ongoing efforts to improve the infrastructure supporting a sophisticated investment platform. The team is looking for someone who can combine strong technical expertise with a commercial mindset and continue to enhance how the function operates.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership across fund accounting and financial reporting for a complex hedge fund platform
• Oversee NAVs, P&L, allocations, capital activity, and financial statement processes
• Partner closely with Operations, Tax, Valuations, and investment teams on fund-level and transaction-related matters
• Maintain strong oversight of fund administrators, auditors, and other external providers
• Review complex accounting issues and ensure accuracy and consistency across reporting
• Support new products, structures, and broader initiatives across the investment platform
• Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, automate processes, and improve the scalability of the fund accounting function
• Mentor and develop junior members of the team

Who This Suits

• 12-15+ years of hedge fund accounting / fund finance experience
• Strong understanding of complex investment products and hedge fund structures
• Experience owning NAV, P&L, financial reporting, and broader fund accounting processes
• Previous experience managing or mentoring accounting professionals
• CPA strongly preferred
• Strong communicator who can effectively partner with stakeholders across a sophisticated investment organization
