Corporate Controller (VP Level) | Privately Owned Manufacturing Company | Long Island, NY
One of my clients has just opened a newly created Corporate Controller position This privately-held, family-owned leader in the manufacturing space is growing fast, and this role reflects that growth directly.
The business:A global manufacturer of high-performance electronic components, serving over 20,000 customers worldwide across communications, defense, aerospace, medical, and industrial markets. Privately owned, financially strong ($400M of annual revenue), and still expanding, with manufacturing operations spanning multiple countries across North America, the Middle East, and Asia.
The culture is entrepreneurial, hands‑on, and genuinely collaborative, the kind of place where people stay for a decade or more because the work matters and the leadership is accessible.
The opportunity:This isn't a maintenance role. You'll lead global accounting operations and financial reporting for a 2,000+ employee, multi-entity international group, reporting directly to the Group CFO. Core responsibilities include:
- Owning the monthly and quarterly close across the global organization
- Directing statutory reporting and tax filings
- Managing the external audit relationship
- Overseeing transfer pricing compliance
- Leading a major ERP transformation as the company migrates its global systems (SAP)
- Partnering with plant leadership on cost accounting and capital investment
- Supporting financial planning alongside corporate FP&A
- Gaining exposure to the company's M&A activity and technology/AI roadmap
You’ll manage a team of roughly 15, including an Assistant Controller as a direct report, and work closely with Finance Directors across the group's international footprint. This is a role with genuine ownership, a seat close to the CFO, and the chance to help shape the finance function as the business continues to scale.
What we're looking for:- 15-20+ years of progressive financial experience, including at least 10 years in senior finance leadership
- Manufacturing accounting experience is essential, with strong command of cost accounting, inventory, and financial controls in a production environment
- Track record leading a controllership function across multiple entities and countries
- CPA strongly preferred;
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance - Hands‑on ERP implementation experience, SAP strongly preferred
- Comfortable presenting to senior executives and the Board
. Hybrid schedule, four days a week in office.
Compensation$250K - $300K in base salary + a competitive bonus
