The Director of Accounting is responsible for monthly general ledger close process, account analyses, financial reporting, analytical reviews, technical accounting research, treasury, among other activities. This role drives financial integrity by architecting robust internal controls, optimizing the end-to-end close process, and spearheading financial system enhancements. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, forward-thinking leader who leverages deep technical accounting expertise to deliver actionable financial insights, foster cross-functional partnerships, and align financial operations with overarching corporate strategy.

Reports to Associate VP of Finance
Responsibilities Financial Operations & Reporting- Direct the preparation of comprehensive financial statements, ensuring strict adherence to month-end close schedules and executive-level accuracy for all adjustments and accruals.
- Govern the comprehensive management of general ledgers, accounts payable, revenue distribution, fixed assets, operating expenses, and insurance records.
- Manage cash flows working with Corporate HQ on cash needs and managing of cash balance via operations.
- Perform analytical review of financial results and understand factors driving variances.
- Cultivate strong, strategic partnerships across all business units, acting as a trusted advisor to cross-functional leaders to drive profitability and operational growth.
- Partner strategically with Corporate IT to champion and deploy financial system enhancements, driving automation and embedding best practices into enterprise architecture.
- Collaborate with tax leadership to ensure optimal tax strategy execution, providing critical financial insights and data for high-level tax initiatives.
- Spearhead high-impact strategic initiatives—including enterprise software implementations and advanced management reporting—to support decision-making and continuous business improvement.
- Architect and enforce best-in-class policies, procedures, and internal controls across accounting operations and financial management to mitigate risk and scale operations.
- Direct all interim and year-end audit engagements and compliance reviews, serving as the primary strategic liaison for external auditors.
- Lead complex technical accounting research, assessing the impact of new regulatory pronouncements and advising the executive team on strategic accounting implications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- MBA or CPA license is strongly preferred.
- Experience in public accounting and/or pharmaceuticals industry is preferred
- Experience in Gross to Net and Inventory accounting is strongly preferred
- Minimum of 8-10 years of recent financial reporting or relevant audit experience, with at least 15 years of experience in Financial Accounting
- Strong attention to detail is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP S4 HANA is preferred
- Advanced knowledge of general accounting (US GAAP)
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
