The Director of Financial Reporting will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all financial reporting activities
Reporting directly to the SVP of Accounting, this role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across the organization
Additionally, the Director of Financial Reporting will be responsible for overseeing technical accounting matters, ensuring compliance with evolving standards, and providing expertise on complex accounting issues
Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
Collaborate with the Accounting leadership to oversee the consolidation of financial results across Spring Health’s business units
Lead the research, interpretation, and implementation of new accounting standards and regulations, providing technical accounting guidance to the Finance team and other stakeholders
Provide technical accounting support for complex transactions and business initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, new product offerings, revenue recognition, and equity-based compensation
Collaborate with Sales and other cross-functional teams to review new contract terms and determine the appropriate accounting treatment
Develop and implement financial reporting and technical accounting policies, procedures, and best practices that improve the efficiency, accuracy, and consistency of financial reporting
Oversee compliance with state-specific financial reporting requirements, including the preparation, review, and timely submission of required regulatory filings
What success looks like:
Monitor and communicate changes in accounting standards and regulations, particularly those impacting the healthcare sector
Provide guidance and support to the finance team, ensuring accurate and consistent financial reporting and technical accounting across the organization
Coordinate and prepare audit schedules, working closely with external auditors to ensure smooth and efficient audits
Assist in the preparation of financial reports and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders
