The New York State Insurance Fund seeks an Assistant Director Investment Accounting to lead and participate in investment accounting activities for a $22 billion portfolio spanning equities, fixed income, private markets, and syndicated loans. The role involves validating vendor-provided accounting data, supporting month-end close processes, producing financial reports, reconciling large datasets, and coordinating with external auditors and investment managers. This is a full-time, permanent position based in New York City with the possibility of up to 50% telecommuting.
Keyqualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting-related field
- At least seven years of highly analytical experience in Statutory basis investment accounting on an established platform
- Accounting experience with private markets investments (e.g., private equity limited partnerships)
- Proficiency reviewing regulatory schedules (Schedule BA, Schedule
D) - Ability to reconcile investment accounting general ledger to core investment accounting reports and regulatory schedules
- Experience producing roll-forward reconciliations of book/carrying values and earned income
