Job Overview – Accounting Associate (Investment Management)
Compensation: $75,000–$110,000/year + bonus

Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounting Associate (Investment Management) in New York, NY for our client, supporting management company accounting, fund accounting, financial reporting, and broader finance initiatives within an alternative investment environment. This role offers exposure across multiple areas of the accounting function, including general ledger activities, month-end close, reconciliations, fund-related accounting, and special projects. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of public accounting, private industry accounting, or combined experience with a strong accounting foundation and interest in the investment management industry.
Responsibilitiesas the Accounting Associate (Investment Management):
- Management Company Accounting: Support general ledger activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end close for management company entities.
- Fund Accounting: Assist with fund‑related accounting activities, financial schedules, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare supporting schedules, account analyses, and financial information for internal and external reporting.
- Cash & Expense Management: Support cash activity, expense processing, allocations, and related accounting functions across multiple entities.
- Audit Support: Prepare documentation and schedules while assisting with audit, tax, and other financial reporting requests.
- Special Projects: Contribute to finance, accounting, operational, and cross‑functional projects as business needs evolve.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 1–3 years of public accounting, corporate accounting, fund accounting, or related experience is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month‑end close is preferred, with investment management or private markets exposure a plus.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with accounting or financial systems are required. - Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, organizational, communication, attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to contribute across multiple accounting and finance functions are required.
