Role: Accounting Manager
Salary: $,000 plus bonus
Location: New York City - (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)
About the role: Thriving Fin Tech firm is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee its accounting operations and lead a talented team. This position offers an excellent growth opportunity in a supportive environment for an individual with strong technical skills and a commitment to producing accurate financial results.
Ideal candidate has a mix of public and private accounting, ideally within financial services or technology. CPA highly preferred.
Responsibilities:- Manages daily accounting activities, including month end close processes, payables, receivables, and the general ledger.
- Leads monthly and yearly close processes to deliver timely financial reports.
- Prepares and reviews key financial statements.
- Supervises and mentors a team of accounting professionals.
- Collaborates with colleagues, including global partners, to support company objectives.
- Assists with budgeting, financial planning, and forecasting.
- Oversees external audit processes.
- Identifies and implements process improvements for greater efficiency.
- Keeps current with changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Supports integration efforts for mergers, acquisitions, or new business activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum five years of relevant accounting experience, ideally mix of public and private.
- Financial Services or Technology industry experience.
- At least one year of experience in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
