A mid-sized construction company in New York City is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to oversee the full scope of union payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities- Administer full-cycle union payroll
- Process and reconcile union remittances, certified payrolls, and prevailing wage reports
- Manage workers' compensation claims, payroll audits, and compliance reporting (OSHA, EEOC, OCIP/CCIP)
- Ensure compliance with NYS unemployment and payroll tax regulations
- Handle job costing, payroll reconciliations, and identify/correct discrepancies within Sage 300
- Generate and format Excel reports (tables, payroll packages, data analysis)
- Support payroll system transition (experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus)
- Assist with payroll audits, garnishments, benefit remittances, and collaborate with leadership on payroll compliance
- 3+ years of experience in construction bookkeeping
- Hands-on experience with Sage 300 or Timberline
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work independently
- Fully paid health insurance (individual and family coverage)
