Robinhood's Corporate Accounting team is growing quickly to keep pace with the company's expanding scale and complexity. We partner closely with FP&A, Legal, Treasury, and our external auditors to keep the books accurate, timely, and audit-ready. The team takes pride in clear communication, sound judgment, and supporting one another through competing deadlines. As a Senior Corporate Accountant, you'll analyze and explain monthly balance sheet and income statement fluctuations, helping stakeholders understand what's driving the numbers. You'll record and reconcile accrual and prepaid transactions, prepare and maintain monthly journal entries, and complete account reconciliations and flux analysis. You'll support internal requests and external audit deliverables, and research technical accounting questions to recommend practices aligned with GAAP.
You'll partner with stakeholders across the business to streamline data flow and processes, and contribute to system automation projects that make the monthly close more efficient.
This role is based in our New York, NY, Menlo Park, CA, and Chicago, IL offices, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you’ll do- Analyze and explain monthly balance sheet and income statement fluctuations and variances.
- Record and reconcile accrual and prepaid transactions, including preparing and maintaining monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analysis.
- Assist with compiling internal team requests and external audit requests.
- Research important accounting issues and recommend best practices and applications in accordance with GAAP.
- Lead meetings with stakeholders across departments.
- Partner with stakeholders across the business on shared accounting priorities.
- Work with various departments to streamline data flow and processes.
- Assist with system automation projects as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 3-5 years of total experience, preferably combined in public accounting and industry.
- Understanding of GAAP standards.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Experience with process improvement and proficiency with spreadsheets.
- Hands-on experience in the financial close process (preferred).
- Experience with foreign entity accounting.
