Accountant, Financial Reporting, Senior Accountant

Oliver James is currently partnering with a leading P&C company looking to add to its robust accounting department. The role will support the monthly close, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, carrier settlements, financial reporting, and ongoing enhancements to the company's Workday platform. It is well suited for a growing professional who enjoys combining hands-on accounting responsibilities with systems and process improvement work.

• Maintain and manage the general ledger.
• Prepare accurate journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure financial records reflect the company's business transactions comprehensively.
• Review financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Assist in financial audits and implement audit recommendations.
• Collaborate with other team members to support various accounting projects and initiatives.

• Proven experience in managing general ledgers, specifically with Workday Financial.
• Strong analytical skills to handle large volumes of data with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to effectively collaborate within the team and present financial data.
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and best accounting practices.
