Controller​/VP Finance – Family Office, Portfolio Accounting

Dynamic Family Office with a Portfolio of Companies

Across distribution, grocery, retail and real estate investments, seeks Controller or VP Finance with 7-10+ years financial or accounting leadership experience ideally with experience across two or more sectors including family office or centralized accounting management – with strong accounting, FP&A, cashflow, forecasting and operational finance experience, to lead centralized accounting for a group of companies across manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, grocery and commercial real estate.

Reporting to the owner and working cross-functionally with Controllers, Operations, and Sales teams at portfolio companies. We’re looking for someone with strong accounting acumen who can set up financial controls, processes and reporting and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including investor reporting, develop detailed budgets, forecasts and support system improvement initiatives for the group, to help the company build the financial, operational, and people infrastructure required to support its long‑term trajectory.

• Bachelors in Accounting or Finance, or related discipline.
• Masters in Accounting, CPA or similar is a plus.
• 5+ years accounting oversight in a Controller, Accounting Manager or VP Finance role working with retail, industrial assets, distribution, manufacturing with strong accounting discipline.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with excellent analytical skills.
• Knowledge of MRI or other similar property management related software.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP/accounting theory.
• Clear communicator with ability to interact with associates, senior leaders and external parties.
• Ability to work independently as well as with internal and external teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle a high volume of responsibilities
