Payroll Tax Specialist

The Payroll Tax Specialist is responsible for supporting payroll tax depositing, reporting, and compliance activities, while also providing support for 1099 depositing and reporting obligations. This position requires strong payroll tax experience, knowledge of Workday, and the ability to work collaboratively across payroll, tax, and related functions.

The successful candidate will bring hands-on payroll and payroll tax experience, strong attention to detail, and the flexibility to support audits, tax notices, and other compliance-related activities as business needs arise.

You will

Key Responsibilities Support payroll tax depositing, reporting, reconciliation, and related compliance activities.

Utilize Workday (WD) as part of payroll and related processes.

Support payroll tax depositing and reporting processes involving ADP.Assist with 1099 depositing and reporting in addition to payroll-related responsibilities.

Assist with payroll and tax-related audits, including gathering information, researching issues, and supporting responses to audit inquiries.

Assist with tax agency and other payroll-related notices, including researching and helping prepare timely responses and supporting documentation.

Use Microsoft 365 applications to prepare analyses, maintain documentation, communicate with stakeholders, and support day-to-day responsibilities.

Work collaboratively with Payroll, Tax, Finance, HR, and other teams as appropriate to address payroll tax and reporting matters.

Maintain accurate records and documentation to support payroll tax compliance, reporting, audits, and inquiries.

Provide additional support for payroll tax and related compliance activities as needed.

You have

Qualifications6 to 10 years of payroll experience, with demonstrated knowledge of payroll processes and related compliance requirements.

CPP Certification preferred but not required.

Working knowledge of Workday (WD) is required.

Knowledge of ADP payroll depositing and reporting processes is preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.

Willingness and ability to assume responsibility for 1099 depositing and reporting in addition to payroll responsibilities.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Hybrid - 3 days in office located in Hudson Yards, NYC. 2 days WFH.Salary Range:$ - $The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
