Senior Accountant / Financial Controller

Location: New York, NY 10014 — Hybrid (3 days onsite: Mon/Wed/Thurs)
Salary: Up to $130,000

A well-established, privately held furniture and manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Accountant / Financial Controller to join its growing finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who wants to take on increasing responsibility and grow toward a Controller/CFO-level role
.

• Manage accounting activities across 6 entities

• Support annual audits and accounting write-up work

• Perform bank reconciliations and manage banking activities/wires

• Review invoices, POs, and resolve invoice-related issues

• Review financial results and margins

• Manage sales tax and consolidations

• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and prepaids

• Support inventory and cost accounting

• Partner with AP, AR, Cost Management, and Invoice teams

• Assist with financial reporting and other accounting projects

• Work closely with the CFO and cross-functional teams

• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
  , ideally at the Senior Accountant/Controller level

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

• Experience with
  bank reconciliations, consolidations, sales tax, accruals, and prepaids

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and ability to collaborate across departments

• Inventory/consumer products experience strongly preferred

• Motivated to grow into a Controller and eventually CFO role
