Junior Financial Analyst
Location: Dobbs Ferry, NY
Job Type: Full-Time / Contract-based
Department: Finance & Accounting
Salary Range: $25 - $29 per hour
The Junior Financial Analyst is an integral member of the Finance & Accounting team, supporting the organization's financial operations through accounting, payroll, accounts receivable analysis, and financial reporting activities. This role offers an excellent opportunity for early-career finance professionals to develop a strong foundation in accounting and financial analysis while gaining exposure to budgeting, reporting, and organizational financial performance across multiple entities.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to grow their expertise in financial management, accounting processes, and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily accounting and bookkeeping activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Assist with payroll auditing, reporting, and analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support accounts receivable tracking, reconciliations, collections analysis, and aging reports.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, statements, and supporting schedules.
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Review financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Support budget preparation, forecasting activities, and financial planning initiatives.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in accordance with organizational policies and accounting standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and support reporting needs.
- Perform special projects and other finance-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or related professional experience.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, formulas, and reporting functions.
- Strong numerical aptitude with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze financial data and present findings clearly and effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with payroll processing, accounts receivable, or financial reporting.
- Familiarity with accounting software, ERP systems, or financial management platforms.
- Internship or professional experience in finance, accounting, or auditing environments.
- Hands-on experience across accounting, payroll, accounts receivable, and financial analysis functions.
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
