The Staff Accountant will manage finance operations for the US business and serve as a key link between the US team and UK accounting. This hybrid role is based in the New York office and supports accounting, payroll, cash management, tax, and compliance.
Responsibilities- Process US accounts payable, payments, vendor records, and annual 1099 filings.
- Administer corporate cards and expenses, including expense reporting and inquiries.
- Monitor and reconcile US bank accounts, deposits, and merchant accounts.
- Process biweekly payroll and reconcile reimbursements and payroll deductions.
- Prepare sales tax reports and support tax matters, notices, and audits.
- Coordinate with UK finance on commission and bonus payments and support other US operational projects.
- Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with initiative, a strong work ethic, and a collaborative approach.
- Enthusiasm for the Paul Smith brand.
