Position Overview
Monetary Metals (MM) is a disruptive, high growth gold platform, which pays interest to savers, finances qualified businesses, and provides a liquid marketplace for gold leases and bonds. Monetary Metals is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-growth company. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to take ownership of accounting processes.
This position is open to remote applicants and will report to the Controller.
- Accounts Payable:
- Receive and validate invoices from vendors.
- Obtain necessary internal approvals for invoice payments.
- General upkeep of accounts payable in our accounting system.
- Send remittances to vendors to ensure payments are applied correctly.
- Bank Transactions:
- Record and classify bank transactions accurately and promptly into the accounting system.
- General Ledger Maintenance:
- Maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and updating financial transactions.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records, including proper classification and documentation of transactions.
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Audit Support:
- Support external audit processes by providing documentation, reconciliations, explanations of accounting transactions, and addressing auditor inquiries.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- 2-4 years of accounting experience required.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate execution of responsibilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
