Senior Accountant — Single-Family Office (Midtown Manhattan, Full-Time)
Join a multi-generational single-family office based in Midtown Manhattan. The senior accountant will oversee a diverse portfolio of 300+ entities — partnerships, trusts, operating companies, charitable entities, and real estate. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience serving as a primary accountant across multiple entities, including a large affiliated foundation.
The role covers:
- Bank, brokerage, and investment account reconciliations
- Capital call calculations and member contributions/distributions
- Cash flow analysis
- Wire preparation with supporting documentation
- K-1 and tax workpaper prep for partnerships, trusts, and foundations
- Foundation-specific compliance support (grant tracking, minimum distribution requirements, Form 990-PF)
Strong fit for candidates with progressive accounting experience in a family office, private foundation, private equity, or high-net-worth setting — ideally someone who has served as a primary or lead accountant for a family office before. Working knowledge of partnership accounting (capital accounts, K-1 allocations, capital calls/distributions) is required; familiarity with private foundation accounting and compliance is a plus.
CPA is a plus but not required; experience with Archway is preferred, along with strong Excel skills (formula-driven reconciliation and analysis). Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience, with a comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, 401(k), Money Purchase Plan) and a collegial, professional office environment offering exposure to a sophisticated range of asset classes and financial structures.
