About the Role
Ragan Communications is seeking an exceptional Executive Assistant to serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership at Ragan Communications, the leading media and training brand for communicators and marketers.
This is a high-impact, high-trust leadership role supporting a CEO leading a fast-growing, media and learning company. The Executive Assistant will act as a force multiplier, protecting the CEO’s time, anticipating needs, enabling strategic focus and ensuring seamless execution across executive priorities.
This role is ideal for a mid-level or senior career Executive Assistant who thrives in fast-paced environments, exercises exceptional judgment and wants to play a central role in the success of a growth-oriented CEO and leadership team.
Core Responsibilities- CEO Strategic Partnership — Serve as a trusted thought partner and operational extension of the CEO; anticipate priorities, pressure points and opportunities; proactively surface risks, conflicts, and decision deadlines; act as a confidential sounding board and strategic support resource.
- Time, Calendar & Priority Management — Own end-to-end management of the CEO’s calendar; prioritize meetings to ensure time is spent on the highest-value activities; design daily, weekly, and monthly rhythms that optimize CEO effectiveness; gatekeep requests and meeting flow with strong judgment.
- Executive Leadership & Team Enablement — Manage agendas, timelines, materials, and follow-up actions; capture ideas, organize notes and manage deadlines for speeches and projects; track strategic initiatives and executive-level commitments; support the cadence of executive leadership meetings; track decisions, priorities and follow-through; ensure alignment across senior leadership; coordinate executive offsites, planning sessions, and strategic meetings.
- Travel, Events & External Engagement — Manage travel logistics, itineraries and preparation materials; prepare executive briefings for all trips, meetings, and events; support major conferences and leadership appearances; maximize relationship ROI for speaking engagements, partner meetings and industry events.
- Operations & Special Projects — Own special projects that require confidentiality, discretion, and execution rigor; manage cross-functional initiatives on behalf of the CEO; maintain executive dashboards, tracking systems, and workflows.
Experience & Background
- 7+ years supporting a CEO, founder, or senior executive
- Experience in media, professional services, consulting, technology, or similar environments preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required
