The Galaxy Leader Fellowship (GLF) is a flagship program of Galaxy Gives that supports leaders on the front lines of criminal justice reform. Through grantmaking, convenings, leadership development, and deep community care, the Fellowship invests in people, not just organizations, recognizing that movements are sustained by supported, resourced leaders.
The RoleGalaxy Gives is seeking a Program Associate to support the operations, grantmaking, community engagement, and events of the Galaxy Leader Fellowship. This role works primarily on fellowship grants, applications, and fellow support, and also plays a key role in stewarding our office space and supporting a strong internal organizational culture.
This is a highly relational, detail-oriented role for someone who loves building systems, caring for people, and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
What You’ll Do Operations & Grantmaking- Support all aspects of GLF grantmaking, including application tracking, screening, review coordination, grant agreements, and reporting
- Maintain accurate grant calendars, budgets, databases, and internal trackers
- Conduct research on field developments, prospective fellows, and emerging opportunities
- Support strategic planning, reflection, learning, and evaluation processes for the Fellowship
- Serve as a consistent point of contact for fellows
- Manage regular fellow check-ins, communications, and community touchpoints
- Support onboarding, offboarding, and year-round engagement of the Fellowship community
- Support planning and logistics for orientations, retreats, gatherings, and virtual convenings
- Coordinate travel, lodging, schedules, vendors, and run-of-show materials
- Support on-site execution of Fellowship events as needed
- Manage day-to-day office operations, including supplies, inventory, deliveries, recycling, and vendor coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for staff office needs and questions
- Coordinate office-based activities and moments of care, including weekly lunches, birthdays, and internal communications related to office life
- Oversee shared office spaces to ensure they are welcoming, functional, dignified, and well maintained
- Manage office access and communication with external individuals or groups using the space
- Strong commitment to social justice, especially criminal justice reform and racial equity
- Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of experience in a social justice, human rights, or movement organization
- Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills
- Comfort working with budgets, spreadsheets, and databases
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- High degree of discretion and care with confidential information
