INTRODUCTORY PARAGRAPH

The College of Performing Arts seeks a highly motivated student to serve as Welcome Desk, Student Assistant. We’re looking for friendly, organized, and responsible individuals to support initiatives within the College of Performing Arts. This position reports to the Coordinator of Administration and is an ideal position for students who are interested in a career in non-profit, performing arts, or higher education administration.

This position is open to student applicants with Federal Work Study awards.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as a primary service point for the College of Performing Arts
  • Reception duties and answering general phone and email inquiries
  • Clerical duties such as filing, copying, scanning and shredding
  • Handling assignments from department heads, staff, and administration
  • Maintaining organization of office and supplies
  • Running errands on campus as requested by College of Performing Arts staff
WORK MODE
  • On-Campus Position – Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely.
SALARY RANGE

Hourly Rate: $17.00/hour

Hours per Week: 15-20 hours, or as scheduled

Minimum Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Recipient of Federal Work Study award
  • Must be a current New School student
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and responsible. Punctual and reliable.
  • Technical proficiency with computer applications including the Google Suite and MS Office
  • Ability to commit to a regular schedule for the duration of the semester
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in customer service
  • Experience in an administrative/office environment
